It’s Back To School Time!
The first day of school in the Shawnee Mission school district is August 11th – how’d that come so fast?! This is a friendly reminder that kids will be walking to and from school during the week, so please be cautious of kiddos crossing the street or waiting for the bus.
Here is a reminder as to what the Board looks for:
- Upkeep of yard, grass, weeds
- Curb appeal with flowers, bushes, shrubs
- Paint or general upkeep of your house

At the June Board Meeting we talked about some upcoming events we are planning for this year. Find some quick notes here:
- Garage Sale Weekend: dates are planned for September 27 & 28.
- Bulky item pickup with GFL: we will target planning this for the weekend after our neighborhood garage sale weekend.
- Block Party: we will plan for a Halloween event. Please reach out if you’d like to help volunteer or plan a fun event!

HOA Trash Information:
The HOA contract with GFL as the neighborhood trash servicer has some updates. Review the Milburn Fields Website Trash section here.
- Bulky Item pickup is limited to 1 item a year. Additional items for an extra charge. Call to schedule directly with GFL (816-380-5595)
- Yard Waste bags should be lightweight
- Bins are no longer accepted per GFL new policy
- Bundle your limbs (max length of 4-feet)
- No changes to 7am Friday pickup
