HOA News – December 2019

Posted on December 2, 2019December 2, 2019 by milburnfields

Winter is coming

Hopefully everyone saw the email note regarding the street reconstruction project planned for 2021. There was a lot of information that we were able to obtain at the first Public Works meeting last week, and the Milburn Fields website has a new section that outlines the latest updates. We encourage everyone in the neighborhood to stay involved and we value your input as the Board communicates with the city officials. There will be future meetings to discuss the planning and timelines for the project, and the HOA will be sure to help announce important information as we get it. Review the latest information available on our website!

The last Yard Waste Pickup for this year will be December 13th!  Friendly reminder: the brown bag limit is 10 bags.  Need tags for extra bags – check the nearest Ace Hardware for tags. Looking around the neighborhood, there are still lots of leaves hanging around – be a great neighbor and help those that may need help.

Clarification: In a past newsletter, we noted that it is the resident’s responsibility to keep the street gutters and curbs free from leaves. That’s not accurate, as the city notes that it is a code violation if you are blowing leaves into the street and gutters. Here’s a Facebook post from OP for reference.

As the weather is getting colder (quickly) do you want some free professional advice for prepping your home for the colder season?  The infamous Bob Vila has a great winter preparation checklist for you!

We still have the survey open for neighborhood feedback for the Garage Sale and Neighborhood Picnic events this year.  Have you submitted your response?  We greatly appreciate your feedback and we want to make sure that the HOA is doing the best job we can for our neighborhood!

We’re on NextDoor! Milburn Fields falls into the 75th and Metcalf neighborhood – search and request to join to stay included!

Recycling and Trash Best Practices:

Trash questions?  Please go to the section of our website for any questions regarding trash, recycling, and yard waste – all of the most important information is listed on the Milburn Fields website.

Following the 2026 Annual HOA Meeting, the previous Board of Directors  [Sarah Hendrix Enderle, Emma Barton, Traci Higbee, and Justin Wetterer] abruptly resigned. However, they did not return company property. For the past few months, Milburn Fields HOA’s bank account, checkbook, credit cards, email, PO Box, documents, and contracts has been retained by Justin Wetterer, resigned HOA Treasurer.

As a result, the current Board is without access to the means to communicate with homeowners, accepting or processing checks, or managing the trash contract. We just received the PO Box key, Bank account, and login credentials for our Website to post this notice.

We are working to recover all remaining property from the prior board, including the HOA's email address. Until then, please communicate with the Board via mail by submitting letters to Milburn Fields Homeowners Association, P.O. Box 4277, Overland Park, KS 66204. We will check this regularly and respond in turn.
