Summer starts in June – Lots of news & events this month!
Looking into the coming weeks of this month, Summer officially starts Friday, June 21st! There are a lot of events planned in Overland Park and in Kansas City for June and the rest of Summer, and some upcoming events are highlighted in this month’s neighborhood newsletter. Hopefully the weather will cooperate and everyone can enjoy the next few months of summer!
The HOA Needs You:
The HOA still has an open seat on the Board! If you would like to volunteer and be involved with your neighborhood – email us at milburnfieldsjoco@gmail.com
HOA Insider Info:
It has been alerted that the City of OP will be coming through our neighborhood conducting a sweep and issuing tickets for improper trash can storage, downed limbs not removed from properties, and not maintaining/sweeping the curbing at the street in front of homes. Here’s a notice so you don’t get issued a ticket! Read more on the OP website for Resident Resources.
Also, as mentioned at our annual member meeting in April, the HOA has looked into digital solutions to streamline processes including collecting annual dues, additional electronic payment options, and improve member communications. We’ve started working with a platform called MoneyMinder.com that will help the HOA in many ways!
You may have noticed surveyors working in the neighborhood over the past couple weeks. Mailers were sent in early April for Lowell Dr., Robinson, Newton, Conser, and 72nd Terrace announcing street reconstruction (new concrete roads, new sidewalks, storm drainage improvements, and new street lights). Read a digital version here. If you live on Lowell Ave, Santa Fe Dr, or 74th Street, you may have received post card mailers notifying that the city plans to preserve streets using the chip-seal method this summer. The OP website has an interactive map of the City Street Preservation plans.
HOA By-Laws Highlight:
Sheds and Storage Houses: time to freshen up the paint on your shed? Rust happens quickly with all the elements we have, and a fresh coat of paint to prevent rust can help keep your shed looking brand new! Did you know that our By-Laws has a complete section for rules on sheds and storage? Read More, section 7 – page 16.
Any Trash Questions?
Please go to the section of our website for any questions regarding trash, recycling, and yard waste – all of the most important information is listed on the Milburn Fields website.
We need to see if there is interest – please check out the Facebook event and let us know if you’d come to another movie night in the park!
