Happy New Year from the members of your HOA Board of Directors!
Thank you to everyone who responded to our survey. One of the HOA Board goals is to be responsive to the requests and concerns of all residents in Milburn Fields. We received over 150 responses and have been analyzing your feedback to serve you better.
The top two responses involve HOA Communications and Social Gatherings. We have recently increased the number of ways in which we communicate with you:
- Our WordPress website (http://milburnfieldsop.com)
- Via Gmail (milburnfieldsjoco@gmail.com)
- With MailChimp Email newsletters
- On Facebook (search for Milburn Fields Families)
- Through SurveyMonkey Surveys sent via email
- Via the Nextdoor App
- And by mailing newsletters for those who do not have computers or internet
If you would like to receive future newsletter via email, please send your email address to us at milburnfieldsjoco@gmail.com.
Social gatherings are being planned for 2018 and multiple neighbors have graciously offered to host. Look for announcements via our new website calendar, via newsletter and on Social Media. Would you like to help or host? Please let us know!

- City Forester Bailey Patterson. Ms. Bailey will speak about City Trees in our neighborhood and the Cost Share Program for Tree Replacement.
Notes from January 18 HOA Board meeting:
We welcomed Alex Payne to fill the final open position on the board. Alex will be overseeing the Milburn Fields Family Facebook page and helping build our communication lines.
It’s Back! The Milburn Fields Neighborhood Garage Sale
Neighborhood Garage Sale Weekend will be held September 20-22. Mindi Rash is taking the lead on arranging advertising and signage. Start going through your garage, basement and attic and find all that stuff you really don’t need or want and get ready for the sale.
Think Spring
Baby it is cold outside! But that does not mean there are not things you can do to get ready for the Spring. Beat the rush and take your mower in for a tune up and blade sharpening, because local hardware stores can have a several weeks backlog.
Do you fertilize your yard every Spring? Are you sure you need to? Follow the link on our website resources page to obtain a free soil test from Johnson County Extension Service. It takes about a month to get the results that tells you what your yard needs to thrive.
Neighborhood centers offer fun, food and comradery
By Gordon Davis as published in the Johnson County Government Magazine Winter 2018
The Johnson County Area Agency on Aging provides nutritious meals at the Matt Ross Community Center, 8101 Marty St. 913-648-2948. In addition, neighborhood centers offer a variety of services, activities and educational programs for older individuals in the community. Don’t sit home alone, come share a meal with new friends.
Center sites offer friendship, fitness, opportunities for socializing, and regularly share great learning opportunities and a place to renew and re-energize! Centers are open Monday – Friday from 9 – 1. A meal is served daily at 11:30 a.m. Suggested donation for a person age 60 and older and their spouse is $3 per meal. No one is denied a meal if they are unable to donate. Call to make a reservation by 11 a.m. the day before. 913-648-2948. For more information go to www.jocogov.org/hsd
