Happy May Days!
Sunshine is everywhere, time to plant some fresh new flowers, vegetables, herbs – getting out in the fresh air really soothes the soul 🙂 It also helps with attracting bees, which we know is very important for our environment and survival, really. AND it also helps our neighborhood stay welcoming and beautiful. It just so happens that May is also the start of our monthly Yard of the Month awards!
Our first winner this year is 7213 Lowell Dr. Congrats! As a reminder, the Board awards a household with a gift card in recognition of their effort of maintaining a beautiful yard, flowers, appearance, etc.
Annual Membership Meeting: The Board wants to thank everyone who attended the annual meeting on April 1st. We discussed this years’ event plans for a neighborhood ‘bulky item’ dumpster, block party event, and annual garage sale. Most voters said that a September bulky item weekend would work – around the same time that Overland Park Fall Festival is planned – to coordinate with the neighborhood garage sale. More information to come! All current Board Members were also officially voted by the membership – thank you!
Board Meetings: A quick reminder that monthly Board meetings are open to all! We try to meet on the first Thursday of each month – more information can be found on our website here. Next meeting date June 15th.
By-laws update: We’ve discussed at our annual meeting that we are working to update and reformat our association’s bylaws to be easier to understand and consistent with other associations. We welcome you to stay involved and attend our meetings if possible. The official Bylaws will be finalized for membership voting approval by the Annual Meeting next year.
