Summer Heat Wave!
Wow, when the weather cooperates, work on the street project moves quickly and drastic changes takes shape! Remember as we proceed through the work timeline, if you have questions you may call Sean directly. Friendly reminder that the Street Project tab on our website has a lot of FAQs and information available.
Smell gas outside? I have called Kansas Gas twice to report significant gas smell around our driveway – and it is stronger some days than others. They reported there are ‘Class 2’ leaks in more than one spot in our neighborhood and they have it on the list to get fixed. They believe it was from the utility work completed at the start of our street project. If you want to report it, call KS Gas (800) 794-7480.
First day of school for Shawnee Mission (East Antioch Elementary) is August 12th! Please watch out and slow down – kiddos will be walking to school again soon.
From the Facebook Poll, October 9th will be the weekend we are scheduling the annual neighborhood garage sale Not in our Facebook group? CLICK HERE 🙂 Thanks for helping us make a decision that works best! The HOA will help promote the sale with signage at our neighborhood boundaries the week of our sale.
Please understand that we are doing all we can to mitigate trash issues with WCA caused by the street project. There are times that some streets are missed entirely due to no drive access, but the Board will help with communicating when pickups are missed. Please reach out to Alex Payne at our email address: milburnfieldsjoco@gmail.com, and we will help coordinate a resolution.
We’re still looking forward to our Fall Street Party – we’re working on some ideas, if you would like to help with planning or volunteer, please reach out to us!
Street Project Quick Notes:
- As a reminder throughout the project:
Parking is challenging, please be aware and park with consideration to provide access for Miles crew members to work. - Once concrete starts to pour, Miles will shut off access to drive on the streets for 10-14 days (sometimes sooner!).
Contact information for the ‘shuttle service’ that Miles provides has been added to the Street Project tab on the website. The phone number is (816) 769-7266. That service should only be utilized for the streets when paving is occurring. - Trash collection process will continue as normal. Please take your bins to the end of your driveway, and if WCA needs assistance reaching your bin, Miles will physically move trash bins to a location that WCA can collect.
- Door tags from Miles are only left when there is significant work planned. While day-to-day work may hinder driving down the street / accessing your drive, a door tag will not be placed if you can still drive. If you need to leave or are returning home, please be patient – they will do their best to let you pass. Another example: a door tag was recently left for residents on Robinson to alert no street parking on certain days.
- Looking forward to fixing up your yard? Miles will replace with sod this fall. They will water for two weeks, however it is recommended that you water until it is established.
- To sign up to be notified of any Utility Shutoff – go to www.notifyjoco.org or call (913) 826-5555.
