HOA Annual Meeting wrap-up:
Thank you to all who joined in person our the HOA annual meeting. We are excited to share some unofficial details for the annual membership meeting. If you missed the meeting, you can find the slideshow on our website, here.
- We heard from a great line up of guest speakers!
- Overland Park Mayor, Curt Skoog: discussed city news and projects
- Parks and Rec: discussed the process for designing the new Marty Park
- Logan Heley, Ward 1 City Councilman: Public Safety updates
- Holly Grummert, Ward 1 City Councilwoman: City news and budgets
We also discussed the many items that our HOA has planned for this year. We plan to organize:
- Annual Block Party – May 4th @ Antioch Acres Park Shelter
- Garage Sale Weekend planned for later this year, early fall
- Bulky Item Pickup Weekend
- RSVP required
- GFL will pickup 1 item only
The HOA has renewed its contract with GFL as the neighborhood trash servicer. The contract lasts 60 months. Here are some important information.
- Bulky Item pickup is limited to 1 item a year. Additional items for an extra charge. Call to schedule directly with GFL: 816-380-5595
- Yard Waste bags should be lightweight. It is now GFL policy to exclude bins specifically for yard waste. If it is too heavy to pickup, their drivers may refuse
- Bundle your limbs (max length of 4-feet)
- No changes to pickup day – still Friday 7am.
Discrimination Complaints: The Board was notified by the Kansas Human Rights Commission that the investigation of the discrimination / harassment complaint was completed and no probable cause was found to support the claims.
The Board will update you on the resolution of the pending HUD complaint as soon as we can.
Board Meetings: A quick reminder that monthly Board meetings are open to all! We try to meet on the first Thursday of each month – more information can be found on our website here. The next meeting is planned for the first part of May – TBD. The Board meets at the Panera at 75th and Antioch at 6:30 pm.
