Weekly curb side pickup of trash, recycling and yard waste are included in your annual Milburn Fields HOA dues. Overland Park also operates a drop-off Recycling Center at 11921 Hardy.
Our neighborhood currently contracts with GFL (previously named WCA) for our weekly trash and recycling needs. The contract is reviewed and renewed annually by the HOA board to ensure residents receive the best value at the best price.
If you have questions or have issues with your service, please contact GFL directly:

Pickup Day
Pickup is on Friday of each week. Items must be placed on the curb by 7am of your designated pickup day. Do not place trash cans and items on the sidewalk or or within 4 feet from another bin, car, etc. There may be times due to Holidays or inclement weather where trash pickup is delayed, but always good practice to have it out on Friday early just in case! GFL observed Holidays are listed as Independence Day, Thanksgiving, Christmas Day, New Year’s Day.
Trash Pickup
Household waste should be bagged before being placed in approved cans provided by GFL. Do not put yard waste in bins. If you place yard waste in your bins, you trash will not be picked up. See the Yard Waste section below for more instructions.
Recyclables Pickup
Recycling service is unlimited for Overland Park residents. If you fill up your recycling cart, you may place excess in another container labeled with the word “recycling” or the universal recycling symbol. Be aware of the items that are not accepted as Recycling.
Yard Waste Pickup
Due to a citywide mandate (Overland Park Trash & Recycling), yard waste removal is included with your base service. Yard waste is picked up weekly, year-round on the same day as your trash service.
Yard waste includes grass clippings, leaves and small tree trimming debris. Yard waste should be placed in biodegradable/compostable paper bags or in 4-foot bundles. Plastic bags containing yard waste will not be picked up.
Each home can put up to 10 paper bags per week. If you need more than 10 bags picked up any single week, each bag over 10 needs a special tag which can purchased at Price Chopper, Hen House, or Ace Hardware.
